Thomas Hightower was born in 1765ish either in North Carolina or South Carolina, no ones is really sure. Thomas married Nancy Mason, Nancy was born around 1819ish and the story begins in Spartanburg County South Carolina as well as Charleston.
Thomas was a farmer and a Revolutionary war soldier under Col. Roebuck. 1790 census of Spartanburg South Carolina shows Thomas’s family. In 1830 Cock County Tennessee shows Thomas’s family along with his second oldest son Allen and his family.

Thomas Hightower and Nancy (Mason) Hightower had some of their children in South Carolina and the rest in Cocke County Tennessee.
Thomas and Nancy moved from South Carolina to Virginia for a short time and then moved to Newport, Tennessee area, Cocke County.
As of yet, no one knows who Thomas's parents were.
