Census shows on October 22,1850, Barksdale and his family were in Jefferson County Tennessee district 13 . Then in Taylorsburg, Cocke County Tennessee July 24.1860 district 8 which Barksdale and his family had moved there. Taylorsburg is wow Edwina, Tn. just south of New Port, Tn.. South of Edwina is where the Hightower family went to church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Then the family moves once again to Coal Creek, Anderson County Tennessee district 5 July 25, 1870. There they stayed.
